Blinds. 60” x 32” x 2”. Blinds, metal, glass. (2026)

Stained glass quietly replaces the function of the blinds. It creates structures that pass as ordinary at first glance but reveal a fragile, altered core upon closer inspection. Drawing from my experience as a "straight-passing" queer person who learned adaptive camouflage to survive alienation, these works stage a tense mismatch between appearance and behavior: the normative frame persists, yet the center refuses to perform as expected. Through this quiet structural queerness, I invite viewers to question their assumptions about neutrality, visibility, and the hidden differences within the familiar.
